Hello! Happy Monday!
Workouts
Fri – Stage 3 of the New Rules of Lifting for Women (full-body strength training).
Sat – Hiking in a local park.
Sun – Rest.
I had a little bit of extra exercise on the side – dog walking! A friend of mine went out of town and I cared for her terrier over the weekend.
However, as you can see the from the photos, he wasn’t really the most active little guy
Eats
Fri – Over by 62 calories, macros 45 carb / 20 protein / 25 fat.
Sat & Sun – Break from counting.
Plan – Resume counting today.
1) Ginger cookies. I honestly can’t remember which recipe I used, but I’d like to try this one next time.
I do remember that I cut the sugar a little too drastically and they ended up tasting a little floury. Win some, lose some.
2) Weekend breakfast – over easy egg, baby spinach, Tofurky sausage, coffee and pancakes.
For some reason, I made shitty pancakes for a shamefully long time. I never bothered to look up a recipe and just sorta winged it. What a terrible thing! Now I follow this amazing recipe and our pancakes are about one million times better.
Dance Show
Choose your own adventure! Here is the scenario:
1) You are offered two free tickets to a dance performance of your choice. You accept and select a show that seems really upbeat and dynamic – “Private Places.”
2) You later receive a confirmation email warning that there will be audience participation, sexually explicit content, full-frontal nudity, and almonds (seriously).
3) You walk to the theatre and receive a program that has a letter on it – you realize the audience will be broken into groups.
4) There seem to be about 15-20 other audience members. Chances of hiding in the background seem slim. Chances of participating seem likely.
What would you do – stay or go?
I went home! Is that terrible? I am not the performing type and any sort of audience participation really makes me uncomfortable.

Haha! I would’ve gone home. I’ve actually had the choice of attending something similar while in Europe (more like Amsterdam) and I really didn’t want to get voluntold to go on stage :S
“Voluntold” – omg, this is the perfect way to phrase it. No, thanks!
The New Rules of Lifting for Women book sounds like they would have some pretty awesome workouts, I love that and def. agree we should not be afraid to go a lil heavier!
The New Rules book is AWESOME and I definitely recommend it to anyone with access to free weights. I love it!
HAHA! I would have gone home too!
I’m glad I’m not the only one – I don’t feel so bad about it now
I would have went home too!! I hate participating!! The dog you watched is ADORABLE!
Me too! I get so uncomfortable in front of people!
Awww that pup is too cute!!
He was so cuddly!
I’m okay with audience participation, but I have to know it’s coming/is something I want to participate in. I might walk out of that one too. Although I do like almonds. (And ginger cookies.)
Yeah, I think that was part of it – we had no idea what to expect! We knew we’d probably have to participate, but didn’t know in what capacity.
uhhh… yeah i’d be back to my couch lickety split!!!!!!!!
Especially when there’s a pup waiting at home!
Yikes, that sounds so bizarre! If I had gone with a friend or two, I might have stayed, but I had been there solo, I definitely would’ve bolted!
My hubby and I huddled outside, debating what to do! We didn’t have the nerve!
Ummmm yeah, I think I would’ve bolted out the door. Not my style.
Almonds are my style, though.
Haha! Now I’ll never know why they warned us about the almonds…
I would definitely have gone home. I hate audience participation!
Me too! I feel like the point of a performance is to watch others perform!
oh my GOODNESS I would have RAN out of there! I would feel so so so uncomfortable with that hahaha
I’m so glad that I’m not the only one!
ha ha . . . I think I would have left as well! Eek–I’m not a big fan of impromptu speaking on a stage–or committing to frontal nudity. lol.
Same! I’m not a performer!
HA! I would definitely have gone home too
no shame!
I was so embarassed by the whole thing!
